Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my work?

At M.S. 50, we use Google Classroom as a hub for all of our assignments and classes. Every teacher will invite you to their class, and on their class page you will be able access all of your assignments and class materials, including links to any external sites or resources.

Where are my grades?

Grades for your assignments can be found on Google Classroom. To see your grades, click on the “Classwork” tab, and then click “View your work” in the top left-hand corner of the page. There you will be able to see all of your assignments for that class and your score. To view grades for all of your classes at once, click on the “To-do” section available in the left-hand menu. You can then see all assignments from every class sorted by whether or not they have been completed.

Why is my work marked as “Missing”?

Assignments are marked as missing for two reasons:

  1. The assignment was never turned in.

  2. The assignment was turned in but returned by the teacher without a grade being given (usually because the assignment was incomplete).

If you have completed your assignment, add any work needed by clicking the “+ Add or create” button in the top right corner of the assignment and then click “Mark as done” also in the top right corner of the assignment. If you previously submitted the assignment but it was returned without a grade from your teacher, check the “Private comments” section to see if they provided instructions for what else needs to be completed and check to make sure all necessary work has been completed.

How do I upload my work?

Different assignments may have slightly different requirements for what needs to be uploaded, so be sure to read the instructions for every assignment. Many assignments will already have the work attached, you can find all of these links at the bottom of the assignment page right above “Class comments.” If you need to upload a file you already created, click the “+ Add or create” button in the top right corner of the assignment and then select “Google Drive” to attach a file in your Google Drive, “Link” to provide a link to another website or video, or “File” to add a file from your computer or phone (like a photo of your work). If you want to create a new document that is automatically linked to your assignment, select one of the options below the “Create new” heading.

When are my assignments due?

To find the due date for your assignment, click on the assignment itself and look in the top right corner (just to the left of the “Your work” box) and you will find the due date and time. Grading policies relating to due dates are determined by each teacher.
