Closing out 2025 with events that celebrated the best of our students’ art, activism, and leadership through debate. From our 6th Grade Activism Showcase, 8th Grade Art Fair, and D14 Elementary Debate Tournament, our incredible students demonstrated remarkable leadership and creativity. We couldn’t be more proud of the teachers. staff and students who wowed us throughout 2025 and are so excited to step into 2026 as the champions of student voice and leaders for peace and justice in the world.
Happy New Years Warriors!
A huge thanks to @dominopark for hosting our 8th graders on the last school day of 2025! We had a blast skating and (for the most part) not falling down! We’ve been so lucky to know these students over the two and a half years and can’t believe we are heading in to their last 6 months as MS 50 students. 8th graders, check Jupiter for a link to the full photo album!
Up next in our fall recap are some scenes from our Latinx Heritage celebration at the beginning of November! Our dual language classes brought food, fun, and education together for this fantastic celebration of the Hispanic culture that is a critical part of who we are at MS 50!
We’re wrapping up 2025 with a few photos from events that brought us life this fall! Up first, pictures from our fall play, Tough City, Prone to Rain! We are so proud of the hard work and determination the cast and crew put in to make this show a success. Stay tuned for more photos on the website soon and a recording of the performance!
Happy Holidays from the MS 50 family to yours! We are so grateful that you are all part of our community and we can’t wait to see you all again in the new year!
The annual 8th grade students vs staff Turkey Bowl the day before Thanksgiving was a huge success again this fall! The teachers continued our undefeated streak despite a great effort from our student team. We love the chance to show school spirit and celebrate together with a fun afternoon at the park!
CONGRATULATIONS to the fierce MS 50 debate team who brought home the first place trophy in the first NYC Reads @nycdebateleague tournament of the year! We are so proud of the work they’ve put in for the last few months preparing and how they all used their voices today to be leaders for peace and justice in the world.
Special thanks to all the alumni and parents who came out to help judge as well! We couldn’t do this without the incredible community we have here at 50! Go Warriors!

All smiles after the MS 50 Guerreros took home the district title! We are so proud of how this team sticks together and plays for each other knowing that they only succeed as a team. Come cheer them on at Bushwick Inlet Park for the city championship today (11/5) at 4PM! ¡Vamos Guerreros!
We had a blast at the Halloween Dance last Wednesday! From the incredible costumes to the great dance moves, it was an afternoon to remember! Families, check this week’s newsletter for a link to the full photo album of all our Photo Booth pictures
At MS 50 and all New York City Public Schools, ensuring all students have access to a free, healthy, and nutritious breakfast and lunch is always a top priority and this will not change. We know that SNAP disruptions will affect many in our school community and we want to provide resources to help our families navigate this moment. Access an updating list of food pantries and additional resources at ms50.org/foodsupport
On that page you can also donate to the PTA’s Food Support Fund. All funds will directly support MS 50 families. We are family MS 50!
