We love the chance to have our students run the show and that is just what they did at this spring’s D14 Elementary Debate Tournament where our students served as the judges for 200 elementary debaters from across the district and beyond and at the first ever @communityschooldistrict14 elementary Mathletes tournament hosted and scored by our Mathletes!

Prom 2026 was magical! We loved the chance to see our incredible 8th graders dressed to impress and celebrate their past three years at MS 50 with a great meal, lots of dancing, and even more laughs.

Our band program put together a spectacular spring concert! Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade concert bands performed alongside our jazz band and student-led jazz quartet for a packed house. The MS 50 Spring Dance Recital was a dazzling showcase of our multi-talented students! Under the spectacular direction of our dance instructor Ms. Janelle, our students put together a wide variety of pieces spanning multiple genres and disciplines. In May, our student scientists displayed their remarkable research and months of hard work at our 4th annual science fair! Each project used the scientific method to explore hypotheses centered around students’ interests. Our staff and guest judges scored each project and the top projects in each class took home ribbons! Last week, we celebrated an incredible year of athletic and academic competitions with our annual pep rally and student vs staff basketball game! This year, we had the opportunity to raise two banners celebrating our Soccer and Boys Varsity Basketball teams and their district championships.

A huge congratulations to our debate team for an incredible showing this past weekend at the third NYC Reads @nycdebateleague debate! We had many teams go undefeated across all divisions and some of the top speakers city-wide. We could not be more proud of each and every student for waking up early on a Saturday to show how much they’ve learned over the past months and to use their voices to make change. Go warriors!
